Success comes full circle
Our revolutionary Waste to Energy Plant is a world-first. Recycled fibre waste is converted into renewable energy, reducing the need for fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions. The energy created is fed straight back into the production process for maximum efficiency, minimum eco-footprint!
It’s the epitome of a circular economy. Sustainability, responsibility and ingenuity – all rolled into one as we reduce waste, generate more green energy and take a step closer to our goal of being carbon neutral by 2050.
Here’s how we’ll do it.
Carbon Neutral Ambition
We’re signed up to Scope 1, 2 and 3 – going the extra mile to deliver more.
In line with RDM Group’s sustainable practices, we’re reducing our carbon footprint by improving energy efficiency, switching to renewable energy sources, and optimizing production processes.
Energy Conversion Improvements
We’ve installed new high-efficiency equipment for both steam and power generation, along with a e-boiler. We now convert solar and wind power to green steam for a more eco-friendly solution.
Closed Water Loop System
We’re always open to new ideas. And this one really makes a sustainable splash. At our plan in Hoogezand, we reuse all our process water, reducing water consumption and minimising wastewater discharge.
Health, safety and sustainability
Our people are our priority. We want to make sure everyone is on board with our brand goals and vision. So, we look after them first. New safety equipment and a behaviour-based programme (BBS) keeps everyone protected. Additionally, we’ve aligned with the RDM Group’s code of ethics, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and sustainability, in line with RDM Group’s values.
Green means go
Together with a local transport company, we use a hydrogen-powered truck to transport our premium board between ESKA mills and the barge terminal in The Netherlands. A cleaner, greener, quieter way to reduce carbon emissions and pave the way for the future.
